CMJ

CMJ was born on September 20th 1980 in the perfect city of Walnut Creek, Ca. He was raised by a Pastoral father who doubled as a ‘shade tree’ mechanic and a Loving mother who worked socially in the community. Their spiritual, whimsical and choleric work habits are seen in the many faces of his work.

direction

Years of enjoying the works of others naturally led to the desire to create. Starting out by expanding on the stories that he loved. Extensions of amazing works such as DBZ, and Where the Wild Things Are and many more, were created. Written and often accompanied by artwork and then valiantly explained to anyone who would listen, the seeds of a creative mind began to take root.

It is in fact the height of selfishness to merely consume what others create and retreat into a shell of limited goals and immediate pleasures.”

growing

The character of self is often lost in the rivers of influence. No longer looking for roots, he now grows, flowers and shares the fruit of his creative nature. Understanding that identity is the most intimate thing we have to share. Through writing there is a deep dive into his self that reflects light and absorbs darkness. In these corners truth is often stumbled upon and ultimately shared in the form of story on a page.

Your life follows your attention. Wherever you look, you end up going.”

We create, for it is why we are

Without the act of creation we defect from the complete being, stifling the growth and amplifying suffering. Why create in this realm? Because I was created.
